About the role
As a Multilingual Collection Agent, you will specialize in amicable negotiation with South Asian diaspora debtors. Your native-language fluency and cultural understanding are the core assets that make recovery possible where conventional agencies fail.
You will handle cases requiring Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, or Nepali alongside English, building rapport and negotiating settlements with cultural fluency and respect. This role sits at the heart of Canton Recovery's cross-border differentiation.
What you'll do
- Conduct amicable negotiations with South Asian diaspora debtors in their native language.
- Build rapport using cultural context, community norms, and direct linguistic fluency.
- Negotiate settlements that respect both creditor objectives and debtor circumstances.
- Maintain detailed, PDPO-compliant communication logs in the relevant language.
- Coordinate with case managers and legal partners on escalation cases.

Requirements
- Fluency in English and at least one of Hindi, Urdu, Bengali, or Nepali
- 2+ years of collections, negotiation, or customer-facing experience
- Strong cross-cultural communication skills
- Patient, empathetic, and resilient negotiator
- Good written documentation discipline
- Understanding of PDPO principles for debtor contact
